You can easily add, rename, move, or delete an organizational unit.

Move or change an organizational unit

  1. In your Google Admin console (at admin.google.com)...
  2. Go to Users.
  3. If necessary, click Filters filter at the top to open your organization tree at the left.
  4. Hover over the organization you want to modify. Then click More Settings and do one of the following actions:
    • Add a sub organization:

      Choose Add sub organization. Type a name for the new organization, optionally add a description, and use the drop-down list to place your new sub organization in the tree. Click Create organization.

    • Rename the organization:
      Choose Edit organization. Type a new name for the organization, optionally, add a description, and click Save.
    • Move the organization:
      Choose Move organization. Select a new parent organization, and click Move.
    • Delete the organization:
      Choose Delete organization. Then click again to confirm.

      You can only delete an organization that has no users, devices, or suborganizations. If necessary, reassign users (including suspended users) and devices to other organizations. Then remove any suborganizations, before deleting.
